About Me

My name is Lucia J. Coviello and I am a member of the New York City Football Club Girl’s 2009 Team (“NYCFC”) where my primary position is midfield although I also have experience at center back.

I previously played for the New York Soccer Club 2009 GA Team where I served as my team’s captain and the NYSC GA 2009 representative to the Girl’s Academy League.

I am a sophomore at Sacred Heart Greenwich, an independent college-preparatory school in Greenwich, Connecticut and just completed my second season as a starting midfielder for Sacred Heart’s varsity girl’s soccer team.  I was named a Western New England Prep School All-Star for the 2024 season and was a key member of the 2023 Sacred Heart Varsity Girls Fairchester Athletic Association champion team.

My goal is to attend a prestigious college where I can pursue both liberal arts and STEM-related degree programs while playing highly competitive soccer. I’m also an inventor and recently filed my first provisional patent with my sister (and former Sacred Heart teammate) for a new type of impact-absorbing soccer shin guard.

In addition to playing soccer and attending to my studies, I also enjoy reading, playing the drums, playing basketball and lacrosse, traveling with my family (my mom, dad, and older sister and younger brother), training elementary school-aged children in soccer, watching NFL football (especially the New York Giants) and attending MLS and New York Yankee games.
